Endless Summer Outdoor Space
Dated: August 25 2017
With summer winding down and cooler weather approaching, it’s time to think about how to make the most out of an outdoor living space. One way to extend your time outdoors is to incorporate a fire feature.
To learn more about fire features, we turned to The Ohio Valley Group, a full-service, in-house landscape, tree care and outdoor living specialist with two locations in the Cleveland area.
With fire pits, fire bowls, fire tables, outdoor fireplaces — and even more available — how does a homeowner determine the best kind of fire feature for their outdoor space?
“Fire features can be of all shapes and sizes and range from simple fire pits to elaborate double-sided fireplaces to fireplaces with pizza ovens incorporated into them,” says Kathleen Dangelo, The Ohio Valley Group’s Vice-President and General Counsel. “In determining what is the best fit for a homeowner, we discuss budget and how it will be used, and then provide various choices based on the style of the home and outdoor environment.”
When selecting the best spot for a fire feature, Dangelo says safety should be the first factor, followed by aesthetics. Then a homeowner can focus on how the fire feature will be used.
The Ohio Valley Group carries fire features with wood and gas options, as well as those with a combination of wood and gas.
Perhaps best of all, fire features generally will provide enough heat to allow you to continue to enjoy your outdoor activities as the temperature drops.
So whether you’re grilling a favorite meal, watching the big game, making some s’mores or just enjoying a good conversation and the company of others, a well-placed fire feature may be just what you need.
